ANU Enterprise Pty Ltd (ABN 31 008 548 650) is a fully owned subsidiary company of The Australian National University (ANU). The company was formerly known as Anutech Pty Limited and changed its name to ANU Enterprise on 11 May 2004. The business was established in 1979. The role of ANU Enterprise is to create and pursue synergies which enable linking the University with business, industry and governments both on and off-shore. The board of Directors consists of University staff, and external industry and business professionals. The objectives of ANU Enterprise are achieved through the following business units: ANU College provides education and training services predominantly to overseas and local students, which include ANU Foundation Studies Program, English Language (Elicos), ANU Access English Program, Pathway to Foundation, Extended University English, English for Professional Purposes, Maths Bridging, ANU Associate Degree and Group Study Tours. The Centre is a member of English Australia, is accredited by the National ELICOS Accreditation Scheme and is a registered CRICOS provider. Projects - The Projects Division provides a client focused interface betweeen the University and the community. Within this business unit specialist staff undertake the development and management of contract research and consultancies associated predominantly with overseas aid projects on behalf of donor organizations such as AusAID, Asian Development Bank and World Bank. This unit also has the principal objective of utilising the expertise of specialists within ANU.
Through a subsidiary company fully owned by ANU Enterprise Pty Limited, Australian Scientific Instruments Pty Limited (ABN 43 008 644 273) develops, manufactures and sells high technology scientific instruments including the SHRIMP (developed originally by the Research School of Earth Sciences at the Australian National University), HPT and Alphachron. Instruments are manufactured for local and overseas markets. The company was awarded the 2007 ACT Exporter of the Year, was a finalist in the Australian Export Awards and has received of Engineering Excellence Awards.
Corporate Services is the provider of all administrative and financial support services to the business units of ANU Enterprise covering such activities as corporate governance, company secretarial, financial reporting and budgeting, payroll, HR, Policies and Procedures, accounts payable, accounts receivable, IT services, OH&S, facilities and tenancy management, internal audit + risk management, insurances, statutory compliance with state and federal taxation requirements, superannuation and EOWIW.
